Went through my Mexico states coppers this last SoCal rainy weekend and found a forgotten partial box. The 1861 Jalisco 1/16 real wear-wise is AU but the planchet is terrible How do you think the planchet affects the value?

I traded off my duplicate states coppers about a year ago, but this stash yielded 15 more. They are for the most part in crummy shape, with duplication. What might a fair CCF price be? I could photo them but almost not worth the effort.

A grading service might net the grade down a point or two for a bad planchet (just like they should do for a very worn die).

But from my experience, unless the coin in question is very rare, buyers will have less interest in such coins with correspondingly lower prices.

I'm not sure what you're asking regarding those coppers, but you could sell them in Mexico where there is good interest in average grade pieces.
