Not too much in the way of legends on this coin.

I do not think it is the intention that all coins of the second edition will be posted here again?

Anyone care to accurately i.d. this pretty little (29mm) 1/6 thaler silver coin from the roller die era?

Prince of Halberstadt, Minden and Cammin, duke of Prussia, burgrave of Nuremberg.
HALBerstadt, Minden and Cammin is not the latin name.

Thanks, Petrus.
I suspected it was a Brandenburg-Ansbach piece but my Krause catalogs do not go back before 1700.

Wow. That makes me interested in collecting based on the 1632 series of books (ring of fire).

That is really cool!

I suppose the 2/3 denomination has some significance. It seems like the German coins of this era often have factors of 3 in their denominations (1/3, 1/6, 1/9, 1/12, 1/24, 6, 12, 15, 18, etc.)

I saw the thistle and the legend 'Nemo me impunis lacesset[sic]' and recognized as Scottish. I didn't have any Scottish coins, so I got it for $10 and ID'd it when I got home.
