The bottom of the caribou on this quarter is different than on the other ones that I have, is it worth holding on to?

You're going to have to show us a picture so we can wade in on this. Welcome kismet

when I first uploaded the image it was too large, so I used the image optimizer. Now when I click on upload image to add the new appropriately sized one it just scrolls me up to the top of the page, my pop up blocker is off...is there something else I'm missing that it won't allow me to upload the image?

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome SliverDon. I will keep trying to get the picture uploaded, or uploaded somewhere else so that I can link to it at least.

the image quality is quite poor, it does show the bottom difference though. I will get a better image with a real camera tomorrow.

You are a quick study kismet. You can optimize the photo to be larger 600 say, and of lower quality and still be under 100K.
Need you to zoom it up so we can see.

thanks for the information! I had a look at the tutorial and think it must be something in my browser settings because nothing will even pop up to allow choosing a picture but the photobucket link worked :)

Zoom it up in photbucket and crop the bottom of the Caribou area, then save as a new pic and reload that one.
I see a deep scratch on the coin in the photo, sort of circular by the bottom of the Caribou. Not much else.

If you use the cropping feature you can get a little closer image when using the optimizer.
I think those lines on your coin are maybe from a coin rolling machine that is set to tight. IMO

No need for better pics. I can see circular scratches, characteristic of coin Rolling Machine Damage. I think I can also see the scratches flatten the CA of Canada. I've found something like this at the end of a machine wrapped roll (the paper type). It's PMD, worth face value. You can hold on to it if you like as an educational piece.

Thanks for the information! I may hang onto it as the first different coin I've found even if it is only worth face value :)
