I'm constantly upgrading my Barber Half collection. This one gets booted out. The dark marks are pits.

On a fence whether or not I should send for TPG.

It's rough but scarce.

No problem with throwing this one on ebay raw, I think. Nice clear shots, explain it's been upgraded and I think you get a fair price for it.

Maybe I can make up a story about it being found in grandma's attic or with a metal detector and dug up somewhere! But in all seriously, is it worth sending to a TPG or ?

Here's one that I found in a bag of slightly better than cull Barber halves I bought off APMEX a few years ago:

I decided to have it graded by ANACS because I could submit it cheaply at a coin show, and unfortunately it came back as "bent".

Oddly enough, I've since seen APMEX offer the coin in essentially the same grade for $79.99. I guess they now do a better job checking their bags for rarer coins...
