I only collect US Classics and Ancients. But my uncle doesn't know that, he just knows I'm a coin collector, so for Christmas he gave me a a 2006 SF Mint commemorative Proof Silver Dollar. I had never been a fan of modern commemoratives, but I really like this one, something about the design, and I like that it features my hometown, which I'm very attached too, and I like the reverse.

Although this coin would not sit well with ancient coins, keep it as a treasured posession, because it was given to you as gift.
I have lots of ancient coins, as well as a few modern proofs.

The only real requirement for it to have a place in your collection, is that YOU find it numismatically interesting, and this coin complies.

The modern commem dollars are awesome and yours is one of the better designs!
Very nice gift that you should keep forever... It looks lonely though, you need to get more to keep her company.

Haha Maybe I will Hondo! But I will have to spend some time searching for pleasurable designs, as I find most modern commemoratives to lack in that area, this is one of the few that I like! But I might get a couple more if they catch my eye.

No Morgan dollar fan should ever dislike this coin.
