A week ago there was only 1 proof morgan graded PR69 by PCGS. Only that one PR69 in 29 years of grading coins. Oh and by the way it's actually a PR69DC Deep Cameo. It's owned by Bob Simpson, one of the co-owners of the Texas Rangers.

That was as of a week ago.

As of this week there are 5 more, each graded PR69CA Cameo. And they too are all owned by Bob Simpson. This set was put together with the help of Legend Numismatics. Quite an achievement.

Here is his set.

And here are the 6 coins. The 1893 PR69CA is beyond words (image below), and it's a duplicate since his PR69DC is 1893 as well, crazy.

Looks like most of those were crossed over from NGC. I have to say, I like PCGS's pics of them more than the ones from NGC.

Would he need the few branch mint proofs to complete that set?

That's the magic of Phil Arnold and Chrissie Good. They're rock stars if you asked me.

Yeah, me too. I'm now a bigger Rangers fan than I was ten minutes ago.

I mean. . . . I'm stunned by those coins! They are breathtaking. To see those in hand would be, well, GLORIOUS! I think the 1880 is my favorite.

I wonder how many duplicates he actually has. Comparing his present collection to when he had them in the NGC holders, it looks like he upgraded his 1895 too. Amazing to compile a set like this.

I could name half a dozen members here, off the top of my head, who could duplicate that quality. You could too, for about $500. It's not difficult with the right equipment, and there's no excuse for a TPG not to be producing exceptional images these days.
