Pretty interesting. I wonder what Stacks reaction was once the coin they declared fake in the 1960s was actually real.

Well the person who had declared it to be altered was no longer around and no one could be sure the coin seen in 1962 was the same coin authenticated at the ANA convention. Walton was known to have also owned a fake 1913 so it is impossible to say if Stacks ever saw the genuine coin or not. they could have very well have seen a fake. The person who actually received the coin back from Stacks is also no longer living so there can be no first hand testimony from them that it is the same coin either.
