I'm OK with XF but not so sure it's been cleaned. There appear to be possibly hairlines, but no evidence of what that brushing removed. Nothing in the nooks and crannies. You don't get all of it with a brush without leaving marks visible in any imagery. Where's the residue?

Here's the packaging for the coin, listing AU 50:

I need to work on my photography on these shinier coins...I think the coins tend to look better in person than my pics make them out to be. But perhaps AU 50 is a bit of a stretch on this one!

I think it's been cleaned as well, for a circulated coin that old to have no toning at all raises a big red flag.

I'm quoting myself...that's a bit odd. Yes, I just checked the coin again and it looks MUUUUCH better than these pics...I'm not sure what is going on here but it's even hard to believe it's the same coin as pictured. I'll try to figure out how to capture the real look of these darn things.

Maybe a mixture of bad cleaning and good cleanings + dipping?

I would agree with XF Details cleaned, but wonder about the nooks.

Woah. That's definitely not a Barber quarter.

He was just giving an example of how much of a difference lighting conditions can make.
