I know it is a jetton or token from the early day of Louis XIII but I can't find a catalog that properly identifies it. If anyone can identify it that would be great! I'mnot familiar with the item you posted, but I'll check when I get a chance. As for books on coins of France there is Monnaies Royales Francaises 1610-1792 and the 1789-2013 volume, both by Pastrone. Report this Post to the Staff
alganbagerap Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2490 Posts	Posted 02/05/2015 5:08 pm I also have a jeton from this period. It depicts the Regency of Anne of Austria for the child Louis XIII. The catalog numbers most commonly seen on French listings come from the FEUARDENT book. Mine is Feuardent 12.439 More excitingly, yours has what appears to be a nice clean "B" which should indicate that the jeton was by Nicholas Briot. Report this Post to the Staff
