The following is a Perth Mint Press Release.

We're delighted to report that actor William Shatner, aka Captain James T. Kirk, is looking forward to the availability of our new Star Trek The Original Series coins.

Went to the Perth Mint website. There are 2 coins: one of Kirk and one of the USS Enterprise. Both very cool looking. 2-coin sets come in a 23rd century style presentation case and limited to 1500 issues. Individual coins also come in very cool looking 23rd century style cases, but these are more flat and 5000 of each will be sold. The Sci-Fi nerd in me wants these, I have to confess. <chuckle>
Rest in Peace

I like it as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see this coin on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Saw one today. The " light up " case makes it infinitely cooler.
