here is the pic of my sestertius . I scanned the coin and for me the quality is not so good as a picture . I hope it will help you . I have also a very special denarius of Faustina Maior. It is a fourrée with the obverse of Faustina , and the reverse is from a coin of her husband Antoninus Pius .It is to say that sometimes there are very strange coins . albert

Furius Rufus : looking my sestertii of Faustina Junior , I have another one with a representation of Diana standing right holding a torch in both hands and a crescent moon on her shoulders ; It is RIC1715,Cohen215,S5233, with the inscription : Sideribus recepta SC , it is a commemoratif coin (Diva Faustina Pia : Divine holy Faustina ) ,Faustina represented as Diana is welcomed by the stars .I think it is this Diana you mean . albert.

Hi Albert I did another search and found a coin on " DirtyOldCoins " site with a " DIANA LVCIFA " reverse with Diana holding a torch with both hands facing the same direction, RIC 674. Not sure what to think now, still at a dead end.

Hi , this is another denarius of Faustina with the correct inscription for the representation of Diana Lucifera .As your coin is unlisted as we suppose , then I think that the diecutter has made a mistake by mixing the reverse of two different denarii .By all means , for me it is an exceptional coin , very rare if not unique .In your place , I would contact the coin department of the British Museum ,they have the most recent documentation to check . albert

Looks like it was issued for Faustina as the dauhgter of Antoninus as opposed to Faustina as the wife of Aurelius. Emperors who issued coins for their daughters did so in far fewer numbers than they did for their wives, so its a nice thing to have.

Thanks Albert & Ben for the information. I have another Faustina jr that has the figure standing right holding a torch with both hands but this is a big lump 13.40g, is this like your other one Albert ? No legend left on the reverse but I think you can make it out. I cant see a crescent on her shoulder though.

Difficult to tell from the photo, I thought I had seen DIVA on the obverse.

Its got the same legend as the denarius FAVSTINA AVGVSTA PII FIL. That's what I base my search on, ric 1632 seems the best match that I have found so far.
