I need help identifying this coin and its value. I believe that it is a Hindi religious token but I can't find a match anywhere. I'm pretty sure that the god on the reverse is the Hindi god Kali Mata.
Here are some specifics
Denomination: India Language: Hindi Date: Unknown Composition: Most likely bronze Diameter: 28.5 mm Weight: 10.9 g
It certainly is a Hindu "temple token" (and an interesting counterpart to the Islamic "temple token" which was posted at about the same time as yours). And I've also never seen one of this style with this particular design posted here before, nor one that was gold/brassy in colour. There are, however, examples of the type on the zeno.ru asian coins database: this one is the same basic design, though less crude in detail than yours; this one is much more similar in both colour and design.
The identifications of the figures given there show you are correct; the multi-armed decapitator on the reverse is the goddess Kali, while the figures on the obverse are Krishna and Radha. The second link also clarifies the translation, that the two sections of text on both sides are actually the same thing ("Kali Mata" and "Krishna Radha") written in two different alphabets, Bengali on the left, Devanagari on the right.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
