not that this is a large sample size or anything - but as I have been coin roll searching - I have just been tossing all of the 1982's that I find into a cup (or 2). I finally took the time to sort them.
i had a total of 1244 - 1982 cents. I first weighed them - to seperate the zinc, from the copper.
result 163 zinc/1081 copper.
i seperated the zinc cents.
1982D = 10/1982P=153
1982D zinc large date = 8/ 1982 zinc small date 2
1982P zinc large date = 130/1982P small date = 23
==================================================
1982D copper = 172 (all large date)
1982P copper = 909
1982P copper small date = 69/1982P copper large date 840.
zero varieties.
im not sure what conclusions I can derive from the statistics. I live in souteast florida - so I suppose that slants the statistics heavily towards the Philidelphia mint.
slightly disappointing that I didnt find any varieties, but I suppose that is not really statistically out of the normal.
anyway - just sharing my most recent 1982's saga.
