Just bought this coin from Tom Deck.

The description of the N-2 attribution above the image make it interesting.

I have a pretty good idea of where I stand with the grade.

Where would you put it?

Yeah, considering that little stamp right beside the coin that says "vf25" I guess it isn't so tough to guess.

Haaa...

O.K. Scott time to start hating me. According to Official EAC grading guide it's an F-12. I also have to deduct 1 grade for the gouge above the eyebrow which is considered to be in the "focal area". If that gouge was on one of the stars, no big deal, but on the face.... EAC F-12/10 N-2 R.1. Go ahead and hate me now.

Oh you're saying the gouge on the eyebrow brings it down?

The bottom curl is worn into the bust. This must be distinct to grade VF-20. The Braids below the coronet are nearly flat. I might go F-15/12 but I'm looking right at the EAC grading guide. I know, it's kind of disheartening to see a coin graded so low but EAC grades are very strict. I used to get upset when the EAC members would grade my coins so low. You could probably squeak a VF-25 out of one of the TPGs with this coin but not EAC, sorry. I'm saying the gouge on the eyebrow brings it down to 10.

I see what you mean about the hair.

Oddly, it looked sharp to me, without noticing the hair. Maybe a very early die state?

I knew it wasn't VF when I looked at it. PCGS Photograde does all collectors a disservice but that's just my opinion. When I started collecting 30 years ago today's grading standards would be laughed at.

Oh, I wasn't looking at pcgs photograde, but I actually just looked since you said that.

Yes, their example of a vf25 has that shoulder braid totally gone.

I'm entirely too stuck on just focusing on the hair above the ear. Must break self of that habit.
