Hey guys and gals. I plan on purchasing this Siliqua of Constantius II very soon. It is a pre reform Siliqua (so it weighs a lot more) of Constantius II the longest surviving son of Constantine. Lets just say growing up in the shadow of his father Constantine , who murdered his wife , nephew, brother in law, and son, does not make one a kind and merciful guy later on The price is around $180 Is it a good buy Weight-3.18g Constantinople mint. Constantius II sure had a head of hair Also can you guys please not snag it up , that would be sad Edited by Augustus Maximus 02/12/2015 9:42 pm

Can't make a comment on the price. But not to worry, I am not looking at getting another coin from Constantius II. Are you sure that this one is good enough for your collection? It shows quite some signs of wear.

It's a nice looking coin and IMO worth the price.

Three siliqua and a tremissis in three weeks? Wish I had that kind of dough to spend on coins!
As for if the price is good, it depends on what you are willing to shell out for it.

I have a well paying job . Let me rephrase the question V.K. " how much would you spend on this coin"

180 is a bit high IMO so I'd try and negotiate for something lower, like 150. But like I said it all depends on what you feel comfortable paying for this coin. Check out active and completed coin listings of this type to help gauge what you think is a good price for it.

I find it interesting that he killed off nearly his entire male family when he ascended to the purple . Even more "interesting" was that he was only 19 when he ordered the murders

This coin has a lot going for it, with full legends. It would be a pleasing coin to be included in any collection of Roman coins.
