I bought a old generic nickel whitman album. It's in great shape but the slides are dusty and maybe a little dirty and I want to clean them. What can I clean them with? I just plan on putting junk foriegn coins and other finds from CHRing nickels in the album.

Soap and water would be my guess as well.

You can also find some clear acetate sheets at an office or art supply store. Use them to cut out some new slides.

As already noted just use some dish soap and water. Pat dry so you don't scratch them. Unfortunately very few companies sell just the slides. If you tried contacting Whitman, they will tell you they just don't sell them separately. I think that that is just nuts. At a coin store they usually have everything you can imagine for coin collecting but no slides.
Hopefully just cleaning the ones you have will work.
