Would really need to see clear pictures of each side. But at first look I would say that it is some sort of modern medal.

to the community We would need to see clearer pictures of both sides of the piece. From what I can see it's not a real coin but some type of medal.

from the look I would say some kind of piece from the early 1900s, seeing as it has a swastika on it its probably a good luck charm.
Feel free to call me Will.

I would strongly recommend not cleaning it if you're not experienced at cleaning ancient coins. This isn't the type to practice on. We will need a clearer picture to tell if there could be any improvement from cleaning.

Nice spotting 'Bob_L'. Not very clear these pictures either. Can't really tell if it's the genuine article or some more modern reproduction/copy.

I'd recommend searching on "Lakshmi plaque" on Google, and following some of the results to research. I know that cngcoins.com and coinarchives.com each have a couple listed from past sales, and that should give you a sense of value. I realize you've done the best you can with the camera you have available, but without a clear picture no one can really address the authenticity issue. I will say that, even with the out-of-focus shot you provide, yours would be among the best of these plaques that I have seen - if it's a genuine ancient and not a modern reproduction. By the way, there is a nice write up about these plaques at the following, if the link works: http://coinnetwork.ning.com/photo/s...1-3-cen-ad-1Best wishes.
