I've always wanted a very good looking Indian Head cent. I've never wanted anything that is key date or any at an exagerated price. So after much long searching I found this, labeled as clean, 1907 cleaned cent for $1 And voila, it is in my possession now and I am very much please. I infact like the cleaning that it went through, it looks somewhat toned because of it I assume. I don't care if you think this removes value or not, I just like the way it looks and think it's awesome that I finally got me one and wanted to share my delight with you. I like it! Interesting toning especially on the back with some interesting purples and a hint of green. I agree for $1 this is a no-brainer, if I saw it at that price I would have picked it up instantly!  |

I think those oily reflective on your coin are "Blue Ribbons" a chemical cleaning agent that "restore the natural color of the coin and clean any dust off the coin's surface". My coin dealer offer $10 a bottle..... ;-)

that's camera lighting. I am real happy with I took a few more dozen pics to try and get somethign good without flash and use my room lighting but I am getting nothing but ugly pics or pics that are clear but look nothing like the coin itself. I'll keep trying to get a good pair of pictures without flash to show you what it looks without reflections. |

Put a tissue over your lamp or between your light source and coin you will be amazed at the difference you will get if you can remove the glare.

Question: Is the toning as good on the obverse as on the reverse in person?.

Looks great to me. Nice pics. I hope to collect more of those Indians in the future. I only have two at the moment, 1899 and 1907. Steve |

I took a pair of pictures without reflections and not sure what I did but these are the clearest pictures but for some reason the coin looks wayyyy much like the first 2 pics posted than these last two.

I think for the second picture that red in the middle is of the toning but since there is no light reflection that's what it would look like if the coin was dull or something.

There are toned coin web sites where the people would go nuts over that coin. Now for sure that is a nice coin for that price. Of course you should send it to me for closer examinations since the photos are not bright enough.  Here is a tip I always tell people. Take your coin outside on a bright day, not in direct sunlight though. Set the coin on a dark surface and take photos. Digital cameras appear to need lots of lighting if you can not change the ASA ratings as with film. Many do have that abiity and if yours does, try a higher ASA setting although the outdoor lighting is so much cheaper and available. No special stands, electric bills, special lamps, many attempts that fail. Just try it. |

I am not allowed to go outside, can't go down stairs so it has been house arrest for me for the last 2 months so sunlight is not an option for me yet, I have a Sony DSN 8.1 megapixel cam, it focuses good when flash is used and when flash is not used it farts out and gets blurry lol. Here are my latest attempts with this coin, these pictures look better in my opinion than the previous ones.   Edited by Sleaklight
