I bought this labeled:
1872 California Gold 1 Dollar Token
I bough it thinking this was what is put on page 370 of the 2008 Red Book. Though it is a tad smaller than half an inch about about an eight of an inch in thickness. I am like 100% sure this isn't what's listed in the Red Book but one can never give up hope. So my question is does anyone know what this really is? It's possible worth / value to know if I got jipped and what a way to determine if it's gold that I have or just painted to look like gold without scratching at it.

I agree it is definately a reproduction and like the 1/2 you have in the other thread probably doesn't contain any gold at all, they are just poorly made reproductions and sold as tokens instead of coins
