Hi, I´m from Chile and this is my very first post in the coin community.
Recently I became the owner of a 1908 ten dollar gold coin, with an extra metal error. I really don't know very much about this kind of coins (or errors) so can anyone help me to know if this is important, rare o special?, and what is the value of this coin?

Most likely it was previously in jewelry and that is leftover from the setting. Also appears polished.

I don't think so, it was kept in storage since 1921, year when it was bought in Germany.
How you can tell that it's been polish?

Welcome to Coin Community, JBass. We can tell the coin has been polished instantly by its' look in the photograph - the obverse especially is far too shiny. The tab of metal you see at the top cannot have happened at the Mint, as the coin is struck inside a collar which completely encircles it. The obvious conclusion is that it was in a necklace, and acquired the polishing while rubbing against its' wearer.

I concur that you coin has a broken jewelry mount soldered to it and like most coins used in jewelry, it has been repeatedly polished as evidenced by the unnatural shininess and pale yellow color. On the bright side, it contains almost a half ounce of gold so it is still worth quite a bit but the jewelry usage removed the majority of the numismatic premium over the gold value.

Ex: jewlery, which means it was likely cleaned/polished.
