I can't think of a reason why the '30 penny should be seen as it is, but I do know that it makes me a little nervous.

Sel he does say though in his add that he does not know if it is a real one and it has not been authenticated buy the mint only verified buy his late grand father. So to me its an honest add and is up to the person who wishes to purchase it to make there own decision and as you all have taught me when in doubt just don't. Or take the time to verify it yourself. I would also like to point out that now as a buyer on ebay your fully protected under there new rules and can return it just for not liking it. Its part of there new MBG (money back guarantee) up to 6mths after purchase. So you could actually purchase it then if its not the real deal return it , And yes if you return it not as described the seller now has to pay for the return postage and you get your full amount returned including postage cost.

Trout there refund policy does not apply ebay automatically refund you they even hold the sellers funds now for 21 days to make sure your happy with it. $100 post is a bit over the top. But in saying that I just sold an oil bottle to a person in Victoria only 600km away and I insured it for $2000 it cost me nearly $90 all up . Aust post are a bit ridiculous.

Shane it doesn't matter on ebay if there shonks any more as a buyer ebay have a MBG now and funds are with held for 21 days on all accounts with under 60 feedback score and even if they did swindle you ebay pay out there own pocket. You are better of a buyer than a seller on ebay trust me check there forums you even get your postage fee refunded. All new rules all in favour of the buyer not the seller.

You guys need to read the new rules ebay and PayPal are no longer the same they have been split in to two companies, and both offer a guarantee as long as you pay with PayPal they will guarantee your money and ebay now have there own MBG (money back guarantee) even if you just change your mind. Please read the new rules. It is a mine field for sellers and a god send for buyers even retailers do not give as good a guarantee as ebay.

Yes trout but what about the 13hrs drive no thanks not at my age, and I know how to pack it bubble wrap it put into a down pipe then bubble wrap it then put that into a large 6inch down pipe then in a box padded with scrunched news paper then taped tight and secure , not lost one yet. And the guy was ecstatic with it.

You also have to take into account wear and tear on your vehicle service expenses tyre wear etc etc , just not worth it and it was insured and that's how the buyer wanted it sent I actually told him I did not trust Aust post. I hate Aust post over priced monopoly. But I wasn't driving that far for anyone to old , that's why I am selling my oil collection been a motor mechanic all my life gearbox specialist most of it. Just plain to old now.

@ Sweetap No way would I drive 1200 ks to save $90 myself, Its just that it "Could" be done that makes Aus post charges look ridicules. I wish you well selling the rest of your bottle collection and I hope you have some fun doing it Mate . I HAVE looked at the new returns rules and find them quite frankly stupid, Luckily I send all my raw coins away in 2x2's sealed in a 2.5x2.5 saflip , I also take high resolution images of all the coins. This effectively stops the switcheroo buyers from gyping me . I have been selling on ebay for a few years now and have only had a couple of returns and as I mostly sell PCGS graded coins the "Not as Described" issue is irrelevant. I have NO problems with buyers that email me that they made a stuff up and want to cancel a sale. I would rather that than have to pay extra postage on a BS return. OK Back to the original thread, That 1930 is Soooo Dodgy along with the 1923 1/2 penny and the 1925 looks a bit iffy. Looks like Grandad got scammed and the seller is doing his best to dump this on someone else and recoup the loss

Yes trout your correct the new rules are very stupid and also seem very much aimed at putting of the little sellers. But if they all took care in selling there products as you do it does help to eliminate a lot of the problems. Yes I also agree the coins this guy is selling probably are dodgy and I doubt there Grand dads at all. And I don't think I would buy a 1930 penny or 1923 half penny from ebay I just don't trust that they would be real after coming here and learning about all the fakes. After my 1925 penny saga I got from ebay I would not be to keen to try again. And with the bottles and my garaginalia stuff I actually list them when I do sell them as pick up only I have no desire to feed the likes of Aust post, But unfortunately most ask if I will post to them. I also sold this particular bottle out side ebay so no fees to them either.
