First of all I'm going to warn you that I am a member of Early American Copper (EAC) and we grade copper coins very strictly. The coin has a VF-30 sharpness according to the EAC grading guide. Because of the green verdigris I'll have to net grade it down one grade to VF-25. Acetone may lighten the verdigris but I think you're better off trying some of BadThad's Verdi-Care. He's a CCF member and he also sells online and on ebay. This coin is die variety C-1 the only die variety for this year considering the very low mintage. This coin is fairly common to find, as it is the most common Braided Hair Half Cent so it has a rarity of R.1. Therefore my grade and attribution is 1851 C-1 R.1 30/25.
