I just found this going through a bunch of rolls of loonies. its so bright it looks like gold. was there any special loonie struck for 2003.like in proof like sets or proofs or specimen sets., the shine of this coin is crazy

It's probably from the 2003 Silver Proof Set

I'm thinking it's from a set. I have an impaired 2003W (with the new obverse, though) - they look more brassy compared to their business strike counterparts and their mirror finish exaggerates the scratches and wear that is on it.

just a thought could this possibly be a counterfeit loonie . I need to find another 2003 to compare it to.

Its from a set, I think the old effigy loon was for sets only.

I'd love to find this while roll hunting...

Some people here have posted that there was a crowned '03 loonie - while others insist that the crowned loonie is from sets only.

There is a crowned business strike Loonie.
The mint changed to the uncrowned version partway through 2003.
All 2003 sets have the crowned version.
