I decided a while back that I'd like to buy a nice early imperial (pre-Commodus) denarius. I've always liked reading about Trajan, so when I saw this one come up it fit the bill perfectly.

New-Trajan

Pretty sure it's RIC 52. I really couldn't be happier with it.

One minor question, the fourth "I" on the obverse seems to have something going on at the top of it. Is that just a strike or die defect, or is that something they did intentionally? I don't see it on the Wildwinds example.

Very nice coin with excellent detail. The extra metal on the 4th I isn't anything just a flaw in the strike.

Wow! Now that is a Denarius You have a Good Emperor and great coin! When I finish throwing money at Siliqua I think I will get myself a nice Pre Severan Denarius

I've managed to avoid the Siliqua bug so far. I finally finished scratching my Republican Denarius itch and now I'm on to the Imperials! I'd love to build a nice set of Flavians but they run pretty expensive; I'll probably end up upgrading my Hadrian next.

It certainly is an addictive and expensive bug to get
Though personally, Siliqua are my favorite denominations to collect.
