The following is a Perth Mint Press Release.
Kimberley Sunset 2015 2oz Pink Gold Proof High Relief Coin

This magnificent high relief pink gold coin celebrates the Kimberley, Western Australia's stunning wilderness. The coin's reverse depicts an iconic boab tree amid a Kimberley landscape at sunset - with an Argyle Pink Diamond embedded near the horizon to represent the setting sun. Just 500 of these extraordinarily rare and precious coins will be released by The Perth Mint.

I am not interested in buying one, but I am interested in what price they will be marketed for.

Argyle diamonds are rare, and therefore quite pricey.
I suspect that these coins will be marketed with a highly client targeted strategy, to rich targets in China, The U.S. and Europe.
Due to the large number of pink diamonds required (500), they will be of lesser quality.

Isn't most of the argle diamonds smaller then normal and low quality. 90% of them are mined at the argle mine in Australia. They are shutting it down in 2018 because of that. The colors are amazing on them though

Ok the price was $8,880.00 and they are sold out according to the Perth Mint.

The argyle diamond mine was actually quite prolific in it's early production, however it is now getting to the end of life. The cost of digging deeper is becoming more than the diamonds are worth.

The other thing about the argyle mine is that it produces many different colours of diamond. The pink ones were the rarest of them. Mostly it produced champagne yellows etc.

The Argyle mine had a higher ratio of quality gem diamonds to industrial grade diamonds than any other diamond pipe.
The mine is nearing the end of it's useful productive life.
Almost all pink diamonds originate from the Argyle mine. The pink color is the result of nitrogen in tiny amounts included in the tetrahedral crystal structure, at the atomic level.
