I came across this beauty coin hunting the other day. I'm not an expert on errors so any comments would be great .

This one really needs confirmation by examination by a an experienced professional, using a 20x loupe.
The surface structure of the metal in the gap of the 'O' should be examined to determine if the die or the coin has been affected.

Thank-you . I would have to agree with you on this one . I have a 15x loupe but I just can't confirm it as a mint error . I've seen a lot of die grease errors in the past but not one like this .

Yes , It seems I may have to agree with you on this one . The patina in the area looks as though it aged at the same rate as the rest of the coin but it does show signs of what looks like a very fine drumel or file may have been used . I'm going to see a coin dealer who has a store here in town and see what he has to say . I've got a few questionable errors that I've kept just for interest sake .

Might be a garage job, but if it is the guy did a good job changing the "O" to a "C"..

This is why I love coin hunting . You never know what your going to find . This one goes in the book just for conversation sake . It amazes me what people will do with there time .
