2015 Britannia Changes - Coin Community Forum

I was noticing it looks different than the 2014 issue in the fact that the surface of both sides are textured. What was the rationale for the change? Report this Post to the Staff

kena Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 1684 Posts	Posted 03/06/2015 4:43 pm I assume that you are speaking about the bullion silver Britannia. Nothing has been offically stated but I wonder if the change was done so that the scuff marks, dents, scratches, etc which happen during production will not show as much on the new surface for the 2015 coins. There were lots of complaints about the 2013 ones. By the way, I am seeing on one UK dealers site that they are expecting to get delivering of 2015 silver bullion Britannias with the new Queen's portatit. First one for the year will have IRB under the Queen's head and the 2nd one will have JC under the Queen's head. Report this Post to the Staff

The proof Britannia has not been offered for sale, so that could have the new portrait on it. Report this Post to the Staff
