Sorry, but it's not ancient. Ancient coins are almost always very thick for their size; this coin has the typical thin, bent look of a mediaeval hammered coin. But this coin is still old, and interesting enough in its own way. It is a soldino from Venice, struck during the reign of Doge Leonardo Lauredan (1501-1521). As the notes attached to this one on the UK Detector Finds Database explain, these coins were imported into Britain in large quantities, where they circulated unofficially with a face value of half a silver penny.
