Wow, I have never seen one that low. Good find!

I really enjoy the great search for star notes and low serial numbers.

Nice one Bryan! I suppose it circulated so long because drug dealers don't collect star notes? LOL

Actually, I suppose a lot of people really don't have the finances to pull a hundred dollar bill out of circulation just because it has a cool serial number. So many people don't realize that they often have value well above face.

sorry to say but this one isn't mine, I saw this thing on ebay and just wondered if anyone had ever seen a star note with a lower serial number than this one shows, and also wanted opinions on how in the world it saw so much circulation before someone finally took it out of circulation and put it in their collection. I know most people don't even pay any attention to their money but it just looks like this thing has been spent many many times and for it top be spent so many times and change hands so many times it just seems someone would have noticed how spectacular this note actually was before it got so worn. It seems allot of others think this is rather rare also because its bidding has already reached over 7 times face. Here is the link to the auction just in case anyone is interested in paying 8 times face http://cgi.ebay.com/1996-100-00-FRN...TE_W0QQitemZ330175908968QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330175908968
