bear not bare - please don't go exposing yourself at the LCS.

Of course it's priced at what the market says... with a premium for ignorance.

If you can't find a local show in TAMPA? You aren't trying. There's one every weekend within 50mi - try http://www.coinzip.com/

Tampa? There's more shows on the Tampa-Orlando axis than anywhere else in the country. NGC and ICG are both within 5 miles. Maybe the highest concentration of dealers anywhere. And FUN, which nobody else in the country has - a coin club big enough to throw the largest coin show in the country each year. Floridians are lucky when it comes to numismatics.

You were right according to the website you pointed me at. Do you live in Tampa Area. There are many shows around here. They are just not advertised in the newspaper or other sources I have seen. I will make it to some of those shows. Many local coin shops have gone under lately, and some of the others just buy gold. I use Gilder Coins. The owner is an honest guy, but his prices start at retail, but once you get to know him a little he gets more reasonable. I got 1916-S Liberty Walker for $60. It is in just good condition. His 1921, and 1921-d were out of sight pricewise. I never considered joining a coin club but perhaps I should. I am rank beginner. Just plugging holes in my Liberty Walker collection is expensive. Coin collecting is coin buying.

Ive been to gilder a few times, he has a lot of inventory but I'm always scared I'm gonna get robbed when I walk out of that place into the ghetto. Have you tried a village coin off fletcher? I think they have the best prices in the tampa area.

I thought Village Coins was closed? I tried to call and got a disconnection notice. Next time I am at the VA I will try them. North Tampa is worse than the area around Gilder Coins. That area is Seminole Heights/West Tampa. If all the run down crap was removed from that area they would be selling $300,000 condos as it is close to downtown. I used to stroll in West Tampa and not worry about a thing. Now a gun is required. Remarkable houses in some streets and old shotgun houses for long dead cigar workers.
