toolhand New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 10/19/2007 09:16 am The 1976 P & D Eisenhower dollar came out in Variety 1 low relief, bold lettering and Variety 2 sharp design, delicate lettering on reverse. The question I have is what variety came with the mint uncirculated sets? Did one variety come in the mint sets and one released through the banks? Report this Post to the Staff

Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 10/19/2007 12:45 pm All of the dollars in the 1975 mint and proof sets are type I, and all of the dollars in the 1976 mint and proof sets are type II. Both types were released into circulation from both P and D mints. All of the 40% silver S mint dollars were struck in 1975 and they are all Type I. TSmith3510 Valued Member United States 455 Posts	Posted 10/21/2007 12:02 am I was in a Barnes and Noble earlier this evening and saw Ike on the cover of a WWII magazine. The cover story was about the invasion of North Africa in 1942. It was of particular interest to me because North Africa was my father's first stop overseas when he was in the service. It's fitting that Ike was recognized on a coin, but sad the series fizzled out so fast. Report this Post to the Staff
