George II Young Head Shilling, roses/plumes in angles. I would call it Fine details, scratched, planchet crack, probably a light cleaning. I assume the alignment is correct. Conventionally, the date is photographed on top. I would put a rough and wide estimate of value at $90-150. It's definitely a coin I'd be proud to own! Very nice!

Thanks a lot, I am starting to get a slight feel for coins and being able to judge them, hopefully at some point i'll be able to roughly grade coins on here for people, and take a stab at my own

i have loads more coins to photograph, including a very very nice 1913 25 Canadian Cents - which I reckon is as close to uncirculated as you can get, may even be of that quality

When I say cleaned, I am not accusing you of mistreating your coins, I am usually (as in this case) saying that I believe someone a long time ago wiped this coin to clean up the details. Common practice at the time, frowned on today. On coins of this vintage, an uncleaned example raises the rarity level considerably.

I can't wait to see more of your coins, I am truly enjoying the show!

Wanna hear something really funny though - my grandad told me years ago he spent all the change he had in his poket at the time on a packet of fags

the last penny he has in his pocket at the time said on in 1933!
