Hi, I used acetone for many years on coins and found it to take away from the natural sheen or luster and replace it with something other than its natural sheen with a more hazy film look. I don't profess to be a chemist and that my experiences are unique to me from trial and error experimenting. However, I would like to know from you biokemist6 what are organic properties of acetone.
