There was a coin show in my neck of the woods this past weekend. I had a field day:

Barber-Halves-And-An-1876-Sitting-Liberty

Barber-Halves-And-An-1876-Sitting-Liberty

I won a ten dollar off ticket the second I walked in. Has that ever happened to anybody else here? Burned a hole through my pocket. Also these rounds were going for spot, 13.50 which made me wish I had gotten more - the guy sitting in for the dealer actually asked me how much the rounds were so I told him fair. All in all it was good for me. After collecting at-spot franklins and 64 jfk halves for such a time, I find pre-federal reserve Barbers and a Sitting Liberty (?) for 5-7 each and these supercool silver trade units.

A coin a day keeps inflation at bay.

Nice pick-up. I think $5 is a fair price for any of the halves, but I don't know that I'd go much higher. I think $9 for every face value dollar can still be had easily even on ebay if you're interested in hoarding it for the future.

Regardless, it sounds like you had a good time and you bought some coins. What more can any of us ask for!!

I agree Barbers are very hot right now (wasn't the case when I first started collecting) and $5-7.00 is very good for them in just about any condition
