The 2015 Canada $20 Venetian Glass coin "Turtle" already became hot coin - several pre-sales for CAD 250. (!)
Just imagine what will be the price when the coin will be "in hand"? And what will be, when the coin will go out of stock?

Not really sure which thread to drop this in but CC&C just sent out an e-mail with some sneak peeks of the Birds and Iconic animals subs. Those birds look really nice.

Very nice for birds lovers / collectors. Series looks good. And the birds look real - blue jay (?) is specially pops.

Quote: Those birds look really nice. I didn't really like the first coin (cardinal) based on the pictures (not sure what it looks like in hand). But I do agree.. the other birds look really nice. Might pick up the blue jay and another, but I won't be doing the set

Agree Paulsz, I thought that the colours on the back of the Cardinal were too dark or purple or something. And weirdly coloured. Why can they put out a red flag but not a red cardinal. The scarlet tanager was bright red. Odd, other issues, Bluejay is hardly a song bird, they can make some noises but not songs. And the Baltimore Oriole is hardly a Canadian song bird icon. Never seen one. Possibly southern ON. Actually I've never seen a Cardinal but in pictures. I understand that they are in (again) Southern ON.
Song birds around here Goldfinch, Purple Finch, sparrows, Juncos, chickadees, hermit thrush, and warblers. Sorry I can't relate to these birds and their colours, they are not local to me and do not resonate. Agree the Bluejay looks good, but not a songbird.

Quote: Bluejay is hardly a song bird, they can make some noises but not songs. LOL, so true. They sometimes sound like the wheel of a rusty clothesline! I'm in Central Ont, we have Jays and Cardinals year round, Orioles are plentiful in the summer and lots of Warblers too but couldn't tell which is which with them. The Swallow I've never heard of let alone seen.

I would like to post this initially properly, but....usually I read the Canadian branch of this forum, Australian NCLT and Bullion. So many world coins news just post here, cause I know, people collect it together with RCM coins without making the separation.... Added: Now became clear - the coin is hot like fire, the price raised, but the Moon and astronautics enthusiasts buying one by one (these guys probably have deep pockets - to buy all the equipment). We came to interesting period - many "hot" coins, means, people will not overpay for something, just will buy the next hot stuff.

As I predicted, "The Moon" coin goes very well. The price is great for 1oz coin with so low mintage, and GTA dealers trying to get some to the stock.
by the way, the CA cleared it's stock of "Star Trek" sets below market price. They did it by local sales (website, trying to get maximum what is still possible) (CAD 299 compares to CAD 340 on market), clearly raising an alarm, that people already have no interest and need to move to something new (Moon coin, 7-in-1 coin)

Quote: "Niue Island" stuff - is it possible to re-direct this discussion to the world coin forum? Way too much discussion on the CDN forums about foreign (at least to us) "coins". Then again, we have a 5 page (and surely growing) discussion about the weather.
