Hi,

and another Saint Gaudens for grading.
It is hard to scan a reflective coin :( .
Thanx.

MS60ish ? Liberty looks like she has slight wear on the nose and breast although her toes are really quite sharp... and I see no wear on the reverse...
I don't know much about gold...
She is very pretty!

I am not an expert on Saint Gaudens, but this coin doesn't seem right to me. On the reverse the eagles beak and mouth look odd and some of the lettering seems off at an angle and shaped a little different than the examples I have checked. The field on both the obverse and reverse seems to be pitted like a cast coin would be. It's my gut feeling.

are you sure this thing is real? something about this coin just looks odd to me (besides the Miss Piggy nose)

Edit: I see echizento and I have the same concerns about this coin, something just doesn't seem right to me about this coin (I guess we were typing at the same time, I was just wanting to be sure and kept looking at the pictures while responding)

I do not think, it is a fake.
I hold this coin for about 30 years.
I have weight it: 33.47 g.
Maybe the "strange look" is a result of my scanner... ^^

I am also questioning this coin. The beak of the eagle just doesn't look right. I would suggest taking the coin to a coin shop, I think this coin needs to be evaluated in person.

Guys, if you look a the image gallery, this coin looks like the ones posted there. I think it is OK. Yes, the beak is weird, but they are there, too.

I am going to guess AU55 or so. There is wear on the front knee, which makes this coin look strange (it appears to be a lot of wear, which makes it look fatter than normal knees on these coins). Also, there appears to be wear on feathers just to the right of the breast feathers on the underside of the eagle. This leads me to think it has been circulated. The beak looks like it has a mark on it, which makes it look longer.

But any St. Gauden coin is a treasure to own, as far as I'm concerned! :)
