wireman09 Pillar of the Community Canada 972 Posts	Posted 03/14/2015 8:31 pm I've never seen that JOP counter stamp before. All the 1935 JOP dollars I have seen have been a recessed oval counter stamp with JOP inside. If "series 1" has this type of counter stamp I may just not be familiar with it. Has this dollar been certified or purchased from a reputable dealer. Report this Post to the Staff

JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21583 Posts	Posted 03/14/2015 9:18 pm Type 1 was just "JOP" without a border but it was a slightly different font plus the fact it was a jeweller who stamped the initials so I am sure he would have been careful enough to not stamp into the canoe. nickle nubber Valued Member Canada 247 Posts	Posted 03/14/2015 11:28 pm Hi Thanx for the comments. This coin was part of a collection belonging to a Nelson man , he knew JOP personally. I am hoping to purchase it from his grandaughter. She also has a ringfrom her Grandmother made when JOP still ran his jewellery,(before any of the counterstrikes) I believe this to be one of his earliest counter strikes (series 1 of 4).FYI Report this Post to the Staff
