Hi guys and gals,

I'm Giles and am relatively new to coins but have started taking them more seriously after discovering a friend of mine is an avid collector. We've both recently started metal detecting too as nothing beats that buzz of finding your own bit of history and perhaps that coin of a life time. As I'm still learning I hope people will help me out as I'm sure to be asking a lot of questions!

to CCF! It is exciting unearthing something hidden from sight. The ground here freezes in the winter, so unless you head to the shoreline (sand), the detectors go away for the winter. Soon though....spring is near and the snow is melting.

Enjoy sharing some of your finds in the metal detecting forum!
