That Shield nickel is NOT EF-40. It is a corroded VF. Worth no more than $10. Your other looks nice though.

Quote: Robinson1990 I just picked up 25 indian heads and buffalos. 2 barber halfs, 5 cent shield(5 bucks/f12), and a 1890 morgan. the morgan is ms63 ngc, barber s 1913 is fine, and 1913 philly is vg. also got 3 1869 indians for a buck a peice, 1913 type 1 buffalo 1917 buff full horn, etc, etc. just overall good day spent a total of 160$. what do you guys think, was it a good deal or not? I am new to US coins and real market price. But I have found on online price guides which quote Indian Head cent 1869 at $70 for VG4 minimum. So it must be a good deal you got 3 pcs for $1 each at whatever the quality - or I lost something?

no you did not lose anything. my local coin dudes let me go through certain raws before they fish through them. if I find something great like 3 1869's they keep there price at 1$ because I spent my time looking.

It's great. I wish there were such coin shops in my country. You should also take photos of these Indians :)
