Die wear on Zincolns sometimes manifests as a small ridge that runs parallel to the rim, this ridge is not seen on coins of other compositions so it is specific to the way zinc-plated planchets wear the dies.

It CAN be found on other denominations and compositions as well, but it shows up much more frequently on the plated zinc cents than on any other coin.
