Can Someone Explain This Mark On 1951, 1 Cent

Looks lie a large die crack. A nice big one. The die is probably near the end of its life.

What year is it? You can try and see if that particular die crack has been reported for that year on Coins And Canada....

Sorry. I just saw that the date is in the subject. I checked Coins and Canada for 1951 and didn't see your die crack but there are some other wicked die cracks posted for 1951.

It looks more like a planchet flaw. The crack looks like it is in the coin, and not raised how it would be in a die crack.

I go for a planchet error---stress crack over underlying problems---looks like an earthquake crack.
