I picked up another bundle at the weekend and it has several unknown types in it that I simply have no clue about.
No legend or bust to help with attribution, just 2 sides with a design on them
Cross on 1 side & grid pattern on the other.
Weight - 0.44g
Size - 9mm

I have not come across anything like it, hopefully someone will recognise it.
TIA.

Hi Gooner
All 4 pics are of 1 coin Gooner, 2 each side.
I have found a " similar " type that is 11th century Italian with a cross on 1 side but that's it so far.
Its made of a strong material so the lead alloy wouldn't work, pretty sure its bronze.
LOL AM
I said I had some odd ones for you
I have some Nabatean or Judean coins in the bundle aswell, how are you on those ?

I am not going to lie to you; I am only good with Roman coins. Though Ancient Noob or Bob L are experts in those categories.( Eastern coins)
Now if you need a few LRB's identified, then I am your man!

I'm like you AM, LRB's are what I have focused on as a starting point for collecting.
Trying to complete the Constantine era at the moment but I do enjoy these random coins aswell.
Here's a very nice barbarous Magnentius, I will take a few better pics and post them 2moro for you.

When you are done with LRB's you can move on to Siliqua.
That is a very nice Magnentius coin. Congrats!
