On of the best parts of getting back into collecting has been sharing the hobby with my 3 year old daughter. She has been a great help picking out silver and other cool pieces (she loves really dirty coins ). 2 days ago I decided it was time to take her hobby to the next step. We bought 3 coin albums. This is her first addition to the book. I'll try to keep everyone posted. I'd give a solid update right now, but she has them in her room. Perhaps she doesn't trust me?

Wonderful!

It's a pity the first spouse coins are gold only; I'd love to have a few of those!

Thank you for sharing and thank you for showing the hobby to your next generation.

A 'pretty' like that one will certainly have other more important interests in about 15 years' time.
She will say:
"My dad collects coins"
In 15 years time, let's hope you can say:
"Besides fellas, my daughter also collects coins".

In about 15 years time, if she still puts her arms around around your neck, and says:
"I love you dad!",
you will know for sure, that there are other things that are far more important than coins.
My daughter still does that, and it makes me feel like a million dollars.

If she still collects coins, consider that a minor bonus.
Actually, my daughter does collect coins! (modern World crowns)

My (almost 2yo) daughter "collected" a 1946 Walking Liberty half of mine that I left on the dresser one day. I wish I could find it. It'll probably turn up in a shoe or a lunchbox.

It's always refreshing to read stories such as this.
Rather than putting together a set for her she is
'Having fun with daddy!"
It is the time spent together and not the coins that she will remember more.

Super. Keep up the passing down of the coin collections. As well as getting them started. My first daughter now 30 doesn't like the coins just the spendable cash I give her from the sale of another coin I bought for her years ago. But now I have 2 grand daughters. So I can try again with them. No time like NOW time. I better go show them some coins tonight !! Thanks for the post
