i would guess this is a 19th century indian coin.

Yep, sorry, but it's definitely not ancient. At the bottom you can see "XX CASH" in English. It's a 20 cash from Mysore, elephant type, one of the varieties of KM/C 177, early 1800s.

Thanks for the help. I thought it might have been Indo-Greek. That didn't look like English to me.
