1883-S: AU-Details (possible even MS before harshly cleaned, friction caused by harsh cleaning wears down detail, especially on a metal as soft as gold.)
1893: XF Details, harshly cleaned
1912: AU-50 (possibly cleaned)

No way the first two are not Details coins. The 1883 is AU, the 1893 *might* make XF and the 1912 has barely circulated.

Many pre-1933 gold coins are counterfeit, I am not an expert to determine the authenticity of these, but in the future you should be alert that buying raw pre-1933 gold coins exposes you to that risk.

Hopefully you did not pay much, if any, premium over melt on these three.

Too bad about the condition of these pieces. They are worth melt value now. Be sure to weigh them, they should be around 8.2 grams.

The grades don't really matter much at this point. Melt of the gold is their main value.

Good news you bought three classic US gold pieces and better news they all look to be real. Really circulated, but real gold.

That Indian is the nicest of them. That 1893 is obviously the worst of the three.

My local LCS would sell these in the $900 - $950 range for the lot of three with a gold basis of say $1200. Maybe even less as he has nicer looking Liberty Heads typically.

Not that this is necessarily an investment, but from an investment perspective this is a play on the gold value, not the numismatic premium above metal value. I think you will be very happy with your purchase in the future.

To me to think that you can grab a classic US gold coin like this for melt value is insane really. It shows how little demand there is for gold coins and like someone else on this site said this past week, it is more valuable than rare.
