Great article! I just sold off the last of my large cents including the elusive 1811. Many are still fairly priced, but hard to locate. I collected large and Half Cents off and on my whole life and really enjoyed it.By the way, the quality of the raw copper was very poor during those years due to the mentioned shortages. The variations in color even within an individual coin are amazing! Thanks, Mike

Are these the coins B&S sold for you Mike? Did you sell them to concentrate on another series? Did/do you have early copper as well? If one was to buy one 18th cent american coin at a sub $1000 budget, what would you recommend and why?
