I bought this about a year ago from my LCS junk silver box
for $13.00. I upgraded that year for my binder later on,
took this out for a look tonight. It appears to be a Proof
Like or Specimen strike. Rims are pretty square and reeded
edge goes to the corner of the rim. I'm not sure how much
the rim dings take away from the coin but the obverse is
pretty nice. Looking for any comments on grade or if you
think it is PL, SP, or a business strike. Understanding
that it would have a details comment for the rim dings and
hairlines. Three water lines visible.

It's a business strike Don. The 1955 silver dollars are known for some great business strikes. Especially the obverse of your dollar. While other years are notorious for weak strikes like the reverses of the 1954 dollar. But for $13 dollars it's a great find for the money.

great coin from a junk box find. 1955 dollars are usually poorly struck and lack pizazz. Even MS 63 or better coins have poor lustre and eye appeal. A GEM business strike 1955 dollar is a very rare coin.
