I have a Canadian 5 cent coin from 1942. How do I tell if it is made of nickel (KM# 33) or tombac brass (KM#39)?

The 1942 Tombac nickel is 88% copper and 12-sided.

Thanks Topher! I'm getting a Krause book for Christmas but have to try figuring things out just from the online catalog right now. They didn't have pictures of the Tombac coin so I had no idea if it looked different or not.
