I received in change today here in Mesa AZ a 2007 Canadian quarter with a person playing curling . I don't get many Canadian quarters or dimes here just nickels and cents however it is a nice looking coin is the Olympic design only on the quarters ?

Bruce.

Those are part of the 2010 Olympic (and Paralympic) series. There will be a total of 12 quarters minted. 10 will commemorate Winter Olympic sports, and the other 2 will commemorate Winter Paralympic sports. So far we 5 of them have been released. Two of them have already produced mules. The most recent one was the Alpine Skiing that should be dated 2007, but some were released with the 2008 date. None of the mules were released for circulation, as all were restricted to mint sets, and special issues. I forget what the other mule was, but it was an olympic sport with the paralympic obverse. Again, not the circulation releases, though.

As if that wasn't enough, there will be Lucky Loonies released in 2008 and 2010 with the olympic logo on them. This isn't really anything new as they did the same in 2004 and 2006 so far. The interesting releases, though, will be the set of three quarters that will be chosen by the public to honour a gold, silver, and bronze medal event (or individual) in 2010. These quarters are also supposed to be gold, silver and bronze coloured. I don't suspect we'll see too many of them circulating.

The other mule was the Wheelchair Curling reverse with the wrong obverse. Instead of the Paralympics logo on obverse it had the Olympics logo. This coin was in the Mint Set of all denominations including the commemorative quarters. And the sets are not going cheaply on ebay. I haven't been able to score one yet.
