My New Brunswick Municipal Trade Tokens list, anointed!
Town, year, image, composition, face value (something that should be noted)
St. Andrews By The Sea
1977 Algonquin Hotel Nickel $2 1978 Courthouse Nickel $2 Greenock Church Nickel $2 Covenhaven Nickel $2 1981 Shiretown Inn Nickel $2 (Originally called "the Kennedy Hotel") 1982 Ross Memorial Museum Nickel $2 1983 Local Bicentennial Nickel $2 1984 Fort Tipperary Nickel $1 1984 Fort Tipperary Nickel $2 1985 Herring Weir Nickel $2 The Aquarium Nickel $2 Sir James Dunn Arena Nickel $2 Lady Dunn Trade School Nickel $2 Algonquin Hotel !00th anniversary Nickel $2 1990 Cottage Craft Tweed and Yarn 75th anniversary Nickel $2 1991 Sir James Dunn Academy Nickel $2 1992 Atlantic Aquaculture Nickel $2 1993 Fisheries and Ocean 85th anniversary Nickel $2 1994 Algonquin Golf Course 100th anniversary Nickel $2 1995 St. Andrews Bloke House Nickel $2 1996 WHale Watching Nickel $2 1997 Ministers Island Nickel $2 1998 Kingsbrae Garden Nickel $2 1999 Windsor House of Saint Andrews Nickel $2 2000 Algonquin Golf Course Nickel $3 2001 S/V Corry Nickel $3 2002 Bay of Fundy Lobster Nickel $3 2003 Pendelbury Lighthouse $3 2004 St.Crouix 600th Anniversary Nickel $3 2007 Canada's first Wallemi Pine, living fossil Nickel $3 2008 Right Whale Bimetallic $3 2008 Right Whale Bimetallic $3 (Upside down core) 2008 Bald Eagle Nickel $3 2010 Passamaquoddy First Nations Brassy tombac? $3
Starting at 2007 the tokens do not have a reeded edge. EIther St. Andrews started using a different mint or the mint they used started using different planchets. All coins feature the town's coat of arms on the reverse side.
Magnetic Hill Inn: '79, '80, '82 All nickel, all have a magnet pulling a car up a ramp, maple leaf on reverse side .
Woodstock 1988 L.P. Fisher Library Nickel $2 1988 L.P. Fisher Library Silver $2 1988 L.P. Fisher Library Silver plated or messed up regular silver? $2 1989 Carleton County Courthouse Silver $2 1992 VIctorian Christmas Nickel $2 1993 St Gertrudes Church Nickel $2
I was given a 1992 Woodstock token by my friend Tyler. I had it in my coat pocket and left my coat unattended at a dorm party at Cape Breton University. Someone made off with that token, $200 and a knife (all in said pocket). A couple years pass and Tyler needs to sell of some stuff to raise funds as he got a girl pregnant, moved the girl in with him and the girl started a grease fire torching his trailer. I bought his '92 off him. It survived his trailer fire. Both of the Victorian Christmas tokens came from the Woodstock, NB Shoppers Drug Mart. In, like, '08, a box full of '92 tokens were discovered and Tyler rescued 3 and the rest were thrown out. I know a "box full" is not a standard measurement but I have never seen a dealer with that year token. What ever the mintage is for this piece you should knock 40 off of it.
Shediac I have all the ones between 79-87. All worth a dollar, all nickel, all have a lobster/ ommar
In 1984, New Brunswicks 200th anniversary, we seen a lot of small towns ordering one off trade tokens bearing the "NB 200" logo. Minto was one such town. I have the regular nickel issued token and am looking for the brass version. I also have the.
Saint John 1984 Loyalist Dollar NB 200th Nickel $1 1984 Loyalist Dollar Gold Plated NB 200th $1 As well as a medallion and lapel pin featuring such a "NB 200" logo (Look at Campbellton's "84 too)
Dalhousie 1980 Dal's 1980 Diamond Jubilee logo Brass $1
Fredericton 1980 Building? Nickel $1 1981 Cathedral Nickel $1 1982 City Hall Nickel $1 1983 Old Arts Building, University New Brunswick Nickel $1 1984 Building? Nickel $1
Caraquet 1983 Gala Provincial de La Chanson Nickel $1 1984 20th something acadian. Nickel $1
Campbellton 1982 Suspension Bridge Die 1 Nickel $1 1982 Suspension Bridge Die 2 Nickel $1 1984 200th NB Logo Nickel $1 Die 1 for 1982 said Valid in Cambellton. Once the mistake was discovered a few corrected ones saying Valid in Cam*P*bellton were produced. The one spelt right is rarer and commands more of a premium.
Dieppe 1999 Village de la Francophone Dollar Co-op Atlantique brass $1 version
Between the tokens I have and the ones I have seen in books I have noticed some overlapping symbolism. L.P. FIsher (Woodstock Library) was a loyalist as was most of the settlers of Saint John, Hence the Loyalst dollars. Although the Lobster is not the official anything of New Brunswick it keeps popping up on our tokens. NBCC has been on a few different town's tokens. St. Andrews by the Sea likes to name stuff after Sir James Dunn and the Algonquin and perhaps weirdest of all I have yet to see a single fiddlehead on anything!
As time and resources permit I would like to record mintages and Pelletier numbers.
This is my current, updated(ish) collection of New Brunswick Trade Tokens. I am always looking for more.

Nice collection If you ever get to SJ, check the LCSs for pretty inexpensive SJ dollars.

Thank you! I believe you sold me 4 of my Fredericton dollars. If you are ever in Woodstock stop by the Christian book store and you can buy as many St. Gertrude's Church tokens for 50 cents a piece.
If Tom is coming to the Woodstock show this month tell him he can move all the Saint John trade tokens he has.

Do you have an updated list? Did you manage to update your list with Serge Pelletier's numbering system? I just finished sorting my accumulations of Trade dollars and have some doubles if you need them. Also have doubles from other provinces if you collect them as well.

Sorry for the late reply cnbl378, I will send you a pm (if you accept them) telling you I replied to this thread.
I have not yet added the Pelletier numbers and I have to take out all the tokens and give them an acetone bath. I bought a bunch that turned out to be in PVC holders.
As for other provinces I collect all of Atlantic Canada.
Where you the Acadian gentleman that approached me at the Woodstock show a few years ago by any chance?

You have a good memory, we had a good discussion. Send me a PM with contact information. I can send you my excel file and save you time to classify your Trade dollars.

cnbsl378, I hope you get this. I just got a free second and went to send you a PM but it says you do not wish to receive emails. If you see this post (I know it is about a week late) please turn on your P.M. .

Hi Harmonica, I know that this is an old thread, however I figured I would give this a try. I saw that you had some 1991 St Gertrude Trade dollars available a few years back. Would you happen to have any available? Thanks Adele

Collecting the St Andrews trade token series.
Challenging finding some of the lower mintage pieces.
Just down to three to find.
2009 nickel and 2016/18 silver varieties.
Wonder who the off metal strikes 2005-2009 were made for? Managed to locate all of those.
